Bought the original cocoon dvr, and the later version - both have been vivid, easy access, piece of cake to utilize and set upwards, and aver the last few years the just thing to go wrong was 1 dvr the ability supply to the cameras fitzled merely that was easy fixed. i give 17 thumbs up

Beginning security camera
I bought a twin pack wifi security camera from Aldi.
They came with two 18650 rechargeable batteries in each camera and all mounting hardware, also they have micro SD card slots, SD cards not included.
They were easy to pair with the network and app. I've had them on for 5 days and nights. If yous want the rechargeable batteries to concluding longer betwixt charges buy a ready of security solar panels that can continuously charge them.
The moving picture quality is not bad for the toll day and night.
If my true cat or dog walk by or man I get a notification human detected sent to my phone.
I think for the price of $168.00 for a pair of wifi cameras these are pretty proficient value.

I wish I'd read reviews here before I buy
Will non recommend information technology at all. In less than six months it's crap. Nosotros've rebooted every bit per instructions merely information technology'south expressionless as and it's a waste material of money. I seriously regret buying this brand.

Just a waste of time
The cocoon smart camera seven/12/2022 from Aldi has a descent picture but it won't have a motion pic at 2 metres away, whatsoever closer and it'south nearly 4 seconds to slow too information technology defeats the purpose. It'southward ok if the moving-picture show is monitored then y'all tin take photos or videos. NO I don't think this camera is worth the bother, it's disappointing because now I have to take it back. I wish I had read the comments first, but I didn't know Aldi had it for auction. So it'south a NO from me, I'll keep looking.

What a load of junk
Iam a licensed Electrician.. wired it .. mounted information technology.. set the thing up with mobile using their app.... set the Lux.. set up timer... all'southward good until the camera kept going on and off likewise equally the two flood lights... I could not stop it going on and off.. 10 seconds off 20 seconds on.... had information technology 24hrs... not happy... I feel for people who have paid good money for the install just to find the product is absolutely rubbish..

No Range offline constantly
Bought these as a pair on Aldi special Nov 2022. One located only 5m and one only 10m from router. Constantly going offline, walked in front of camera multiple times but only recognized a human detection one time in 20 attempts. Fully charged batteries but yet hopeless. Will be returning and doing some inquiry outset earlier ownership. Should have checked the reviews first even those these are newer blazon.

Inundation light continually switches on and off, continually looses wireless connection, doesn't operate smoothly (camera position gets stuck).
I am on my second camera and the problems did not go away 2d fourth dimension around, $400 dollars to accept it installed each time, support recommend keeping betoken strength above 80% so I bought a wireless habitation mesh system with transmitter no more than 3 meters abroad before information technology would achieve this. In full over $800 spent. I accept tried everything and now well out of pocket with no comeback. My communication recall twice before purchasing this make. This site say discontinued product but they are still selling it in 2022????

I but purchased 3 of these terminal calendar week and had 1st i installed on the weekend. It behaves just like the other reviewers said. I wish that I'd seen this site earlier buying them. If cocoon have whatever nonce they will change the side by side version to include a sensitivity adjustment dial to the floodlights existence triggered. The sensitivity setting in the app has nothing to practise with flood lite triggering. It just has to practise with camera triggering and alerts. Read more y decided to do away with the usual floodlight sensitivity dial that should be sitting next to the lux and timer dials. Don't bother replacing as they're all the same. And why does the camera point to the ground whenever I come back to the camera later a few hours? I really thought that this should be a great buy subsequently having used their smart outdoor camera, but sadly this product tarnishes their goodwill after using such a better quality product.

They just don't piece of work effectively. Cocoon support constantly country that the connection has to be upwards of 80% to piece of work effectively only it'south like the design prevents that. What'due south the bespeak of this product if y'all have to take 4 cameras sitting next to your router to go decent connection.

The worst wireless camera ever made
This camera is complete garbage it's biting sweat that it'southward discontinued. Happy nobody else will put upwards with it and sad information technology's not here to endure the review. Doesn't wake up has to be shut to the router and runs out of battery apace. I'grand never buying Any cocoon garbage over again

Garbage!
Had a brand new cocoon 4 photographic camera security system installed and it did non work properly from twenty-four hour period 1.
Had to replace all the cables going from the cameras to the hard drive equally only 1 photographic camera was working.
Later replacing all the cables then one camera wouldn't work so I replaced that camera and it even so didn't work.
So I contacted tech support and they advise either replacing the splitter cablevision or difficult drive unit so I did the splitter cable at showtime as it was a lot cheaper but this did not resolve the upshot.
So the hard bulldoze started making ticking...
Read more like noises and and so completely died. So I purchased a new hard drive unit and now I'g having initialising issues. I have contacted tech support again and am waiting on a answer. Lastly the app doesn't piece of work as in i can non see whatsoever live video on the app, it simply shows 4 blank screens. Never had then many bug with a piece of tech in my life. Avoid all cocoon products equally they are junk and shouldn't be in business selling such inferior products!

Shortly later on camera came out of warranty it stopped working, issue is won't pair, when camera was working adept quality picture simply Cacoon can't assistance contacted them many times over this issue. I retrieve issue possibly with Cacoon's Smart Outdoor Photographic camera software.

It worked well for the get-go 18 months then stopped working. the sensor and flood low-cal stopped working and a message on the phone says Flood light Off Line.
Stopped working after 18 months piddling red calorie-free is flashing simply camera will not read the app program and no assist from supplier

ALDI`south brand 'cocoon' wi fi outdoor security camera was a thwarting.It started from even opening the casing to finding the operating on /off switch. I found batteries died after half dozen months .The moving picture quality resolution was abvery low & pixelated.

Easy to prepare, cracking bombardment life and expert video quality. Easy to get live video on telephone.
Only..... The sensor triggers are so ridiculously ho-hum that whatsoever intruder is well gone or has disabled your cameras earlier the first prototype is taken. Then the app only captures x seconds of video and that's only if y'all get the cloud subscription.. And yep 10 seconds only in one case! Fifty-fifty if the person or car is still there information technology doesn't retrigger and keep on recording. So useless for security. Oh yes and the movement detected notifications are random if at all despit...

Oh and if you did happen to buy these cameras retrieve to abolish your cloud subscription (oh yep $28 per month for the basic plan for all 4 cameras....) before y'all return the cameras as the link to the cloud subscription and counterfoil disappears when the cameras are non continued. Yes still months after returning my cameras I'm still arguing with Cocoon to abolish my subscription.... Oh yes their customer service is ordinary.
